Mission Accessibility is a not for profit organisation co-founded by two blind lawyers, Rahul Bajaj and Amar Jain. We,at Mission Accessibility, wish to create a society that enables full, equal and barrier free participation for People with disabilities.
Our approach combines policy formulation and implementation, advocacy, legal reform, public sensitisation and awareness, capacity building and training, and research and analysis through diverse tasks that we undertake on daily basis.
We are on the cusp of leading a movement, encompassing diverse stakeholders from People with disabilities, the government, the judiciary, various corporations, civil society organizations and the public at large.
Co-Founder & Director
Rahul Bajaj is a Co-Founder of Mission Accessibility. A Rhodes Scholar with two masters in Law degrees from the University of Oxford, Rahul is committed to using his lived experience and expertise to improve the lives of persons with disabilities and other marginalized groups through the use of law. Rahul founded Mission Accessibility on returning to India after seeing firsthand the difference that an accessible environment can make to the lives of the disabled. His unwavering commitment to advancing accessibility and equity forms the cornerstone of Mission Accessibility.
Co-Founder and Director
Amar Jain, Co-Founder of Mission Accessibility, is a trailblazing advocate for disability rights and a practising lawyer. Amar, who is visually impaired, has been conferred with the highest civilian award for persons with disabilities in India, in addition to receiving the prestigious NCPEDP Mphasis Javed Abidi Public Policy Award for his remarkable work in policy advocacy. He is deeply invested in areas such as access to justice, advocacy, accessibility, financial inclusion, policy formulation, and sensitisation. Amar is a member of the Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee, where he works tirelessly to bridge the gap between policy and practice, ensuring equitable access for all.
Vertical Lead, Grievance Redressal & Strategic Intervention
Taha Bin Tasneem leads the Grievance Redressal & Strategic Intervention vertical at Mission Accessibility. A young graduate from the Aligarh Muslim University, Taha is based out of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. He regularly drafts and appears before the Hon’ble Delhi High Court, among other fora, advocating for justice and accessibility. Taha has previously interned with the then Chief Justice of India, Dr. Justice DY Chandrachud. He has also been the recipient of the MITACS merit-scholarship to work with Prof. Bernard Duhaime (UN Special Rapporteur) on issues of enforced or involuntary disappearances at UQAM, Montreal, Canada.
Together, our team embodies the spirit of resilience and advocacy, working tirelessly to eliminate barriers and empower persons with disabilities to achieve full and effective participation in all aspects of life.
Mental Health Advocacy
I’m Sarah, a 2024 graduate from Gujarat National Law University with a Bachelors in Social Work L.L.B (Hons) in 2024. I’m passionate about mental health advocacy, accessibility, and legal reforms. My work spans across litigation, legal research, and policy analysis, with experience at the Supreme Court of India, Square Circle Clinic, and the Centre for Mental Health Law and Policy. I’ve served as a Criminal Justice Fellow at the Square Circle Clinic and as a Well-being Ambassador with SIMHA, Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
Currently, I’m working as a Litigation Associate at Mission Accessibility, where I continue to advocate for legal reforms and equitable access to justice. Outside of work, I enjoy horse riding and running.
